Playing in the Snow

We are visiting my brother and sister-in-law in Utah. We woke up this morning to a beautiful snowfall. The kids are having a blas! This is Kaden's first time seeing snow and even Kinley wasn't so sure what you do. We built a baby snowman and made snow angels. When the kids were sufficiently frozen, we came inside to hot chocolate and macaroni and cheese.

Happy Birthday Kaden!

My little boy turned 2 yesterday! He is the reason they have the term "terrible twos"

He is a true boy and we love him to pieces! We are so lucky to have this boy in our family. A few reasons I love Kaden

- He loves to play with his big sister
- He loves to give hugs and kisses
- He stops crying when I sing "I am a Child of God" everytime (even though I can't carry a tune)
- He has the best dance moves around
- His facial expressions are HILARIOUS!
- He makes friends with strangers almost every day
- He takes 4 hour naps :)

We love you Kaden, Happy 2nd Birthday!

Chuck E Cheese

We found a Chuck E Cheese not too far from us. We took the kids and had a fabulous time. They absolutely loved it. They had the Chuck E Cheese band playing and Kaden thought it was awesome. They played and played until they were worn out. Family outings like this are my favorite!

IT'S A......

It's a BOY!!!! Yesterday we were able to find out what we are having! We are very excited, well most of us. When I told Kinley it is a boy she said, "I want a girl!" So I said, "this baby is a boy." Then she asked, "can you make it a girl?" Jordon comforted her a little by telling her she still gets to be Daddy's little princess.

My sister Lindsey who is due a month before me is also having a boy, so these little guys are going to be good friends!

Top Ten for September and October

I was in Arizona for a few weeks in September so I didn't ever do a top ten, so this is from the last two months.

1. Guess who went poop on the potty?? twice now actually. Yep Kaden, I am hoping he will just potty train himself. Yeah right! We are proud of him though.

2. Katie: If this baby is a boy, it is going to take a while to explain to Kinley she is having another brother.
Jordon: If this baby is a girl, it is going to take a while to explain to Kinley why her dad and Kaden live in the woods.

3. Kinley has been practicing very hard and can write her name.

4. Katie: Honey, look how big my belly is getting. (OK its not really getting big, but at least I can tell)
Kinley: Yeah mom, its getting big like Dads.

5. Of course our trip to AZ, we went to the cabin, to Snowflake, and did lots of playing with cousins! Thanks to my mom, for being such a big help.

6. I am finally getting over morning (or all day) sickness. It hits every once in a while, but I feel TONS better! Hooray, I might actually consider doing this again.

7. Kinley has a CD that has a mix of different Disney songs on it. We were listening to it in the car. A song from, I think Hercules, which Kinley has never seen, comes on and Kinley says "Is this song from High School Musical?" What... I guess my neices did watch it a few 3 or 4 times at the cabin. That movie is taking over the world!

8. We are driving in the car and the sun is in Kinleys face, so of course being Kinley she says " The sun is my friend mom, he doesn't know what he's doing, he's just playing silly in my face."
Me:" The sun is your friend?"
Kinley: : Yep, but I can't really play with him, because he doesn't have eyes or a nose or a mouth."

9. We are going to Arizona for Thanksgiving. Yipee! Last year, I attempted a Thanksgiving dinner by myself. It did turn out pretty good, but my kitchen is tiny and it's just not the same without family and football!

10. We made peace with our neighbor. He came to our door, we had a nice long talk and he is actually a pretty nice guy. We told him we will be leaving for 6 weeks over the holidays and he loved that! He and Jordon even wave at each other now. You should have seen his face when I told him I was pregnant.. priceless!

11. I put Kaden down for a nap and of course he was just sitting in there crying. All of the sudden I hear Kinley in there singing " I can show you the world, shining shimmering, splendid... " It was too cute. She came out a little frustrated. I tried to sing to him, but he is still crying.

12. Kinley : Kaden can you say puppy?
Kaden: Puppy
Kinley: can you say Davy Crockett?
Kaden: Baby crockett!

Ok so there are few more than 10, but it is for two months.

UOP Picnic

Jordons school had a picnic at the San Francisco Zoo. They had a treasure hunt with pirates at all the different stops. They gave the kids candy, pirate hats and eye patches. They served lunch with yummy food, cotton candy and spray on tattoos. Kinley wanted to get a butterfly, but surprise surprise, she chickened out. The kids loved the animals, especially talking to the gorillas like Tarzan and Jane.

Just like Dad

"Mom, when I get older I want to be a dentist just like Daddy. Moms don't go to school, but I will be a Daddy when I get bigger and Kaden can be a Mommy."

Look how cute

Kaden really likes hats. He actually wore this beanie ALL DAY! He is so dang cute!

Holy cow....

WE GOT KINLEYS EARS PIERCED! She hated it. I mean HATED it. It was actual torture for the girl. She picked blue little diamonds. If I have any more girls, we are going to take care of that when she is a baby. I thought it was strange how you can't spank your children, but you can hold them down and force them to have holes put in their ears. :) She likes them now, but she doesn't like me to clean them or turn them.

Poor Little Guy

We had to wrap Kadens thumb so his exzema could heal. He sucks that thumb and so it was always an open wound. We wrapped it for a few days and it looks much better now. I think we might have even broken his habit of sucking his thumb. He did a good job and didn't complain too much about the bandage. Also, remember the ranch dressing post... we found it Kaden is allergic to eggs and nuts. Hopefully now his skin will clear up.

I just wanted to say Congratulations to my brother, Zach and his wife Sarah. They had their baby Adam Delwyn on September 19. He was 6 pounds 1 ounce. I can't wait to see him at Christmas. Love you guys!

My Little Ballerina!

Kinley started dance class this week. There were about 5 little girls in the class. They were so cute. I think her and Taeler were a little excited to see each other and be in the same dance class. They had lots of fun.

New York

Jordon and I are planning a trip to New York over Christmas break. I was wondering if any of you blogging buddies know where to go, what to see, what to do while in NY. We are going to be there for New Years and Jordons family (adults only) are going with us. If you have any ideas or must sees in NY, please leave a comment. Thanks everybody!

Naughty and Nice

All of you that know Kinley and Taeler know they are NICE girls. They don't hit, push, kick or anything like that. Normally, I don't worry about what they are doing when they are quiet but lately they have learned how to be NAUGHTY! A few weeks ago, this is what I found them doing.

A few weeks ago, I heard them in the bathroom so I went to check on them and the door was locked. Taeler opened the door and they had dumped out ALL my flour and powdered sugar on the floor. I didn't know exactly where to start to clean it up, so I put them in the bath and cleaned it all up. So nice little girls can still be naughty.

They took crayons and colored all over Kadens sheet. I think Taeler was pretty innocent in this one. I asked Kinley why she colored on the sheet and she said "It was an accident". Sure it was! :)

Happy Birthday Mom

I want to wish my mom a happy birthday. I have the greatest mom. If you know my mom, you know she somewhat resembles superwoman. She can somehow do everything and by everywhere when you need her. I love you mom and I appreciate everything you do for me and my family. Have a good one!

Ranch Dressing....

You can't see it very well in this picture, but last night Kaden had ranch dressing with his dinner. He got some on his hands and then rubbed around his eyes and on his forehead. When I wiped it off, it left a nice red mark everywhere the ranch had been. I guess this means he is allergic to ranch dressing, or something in ranch dressing. It was gone pretty quickly and it didn't seem to bother him. If you know anything about this, please let me in on any information. I am new to all this allergy stuff. He does have exzema pretty bad on his legs and feet as well, and I am pretty sure he is allergic to grass. :)

Top Ten for August

1. We found out we are expecting another baby! Except for the morning sickness, this definitly makes the top ten.

2. I was asking Kinley if she knew her full name. She said Kinley. I said it is Kinley Kate Green. She said, "Mom, I don't like Green, can I be Kinley Kate Purple?" :)

3. Date night to The Cheesecake Factory in under an hour!

4. I was singing the Little Mermaid song to Kinley when she said, "Mom, when you sing like that it makes me want to scream." (Jordon thought this was HILARIOUS!)

5. The kids and I have a found a new love for Jamba Juice. They will put some of mine in little kids cups, and Kinley and Kaden think it is such a treat! It has been so stinking hot here, it always sounds good!

6. Heroes! Does anybody watch this show? Jordon and I rented the first disc, and really like it. Since TV is really hurting for good shows right now, its been awesome!

7. New York! Jordon and I are going to New York with his family for New Years! I know it is going to be freezing, but we are not taking the kids. Should be a blast!

8. Kinley is learning to swim with her floaties. (she absolutely hates the water, so this is quite the project.) She did it all by herself a few times, and is getting much more confident!

9. "daddy".. this is what Kaden calls every grown man who looks like a daddy - Stranger or not! He will say, "daddy" and go give any man a hug (especially if he has a dog with him)

10. Taeler and Kinley had their first sleep over. (Chelsea was having her baby.) They had a lot of fun and they thought it was great that they didn't have to leave each other the WHOLE NIGHT!

Congrats!

I just wanted to say congratulations to Josh and Chelsea. Riley Marin Bevans was born Saturday morning. 7 pounds 3 ounces, 20 inches (I hope I got that right) She has lots of beautiful dark hair, and is so sweet. Congratulations you guys!

So Cute...

My sister Lindsey is making these super cute hair clip boards. They have ribbons going down to clip all your little girls hair clips on. I think they are 16x20 framed. They also hang by darling ribbon which you can't see in the picture. She is selling them for $30. If any of you are interested let me know. She does them to match the little girls room. :)
I am having her make one for Kinley, even though she shares a room with Kaden! (poor boy)

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

We finally took the kids to the Six Flags Discovery Kingdom that is in Vallejo, about 20 minutes from our house. It was a lot of fun. We got to ride some rides, play in the water, watch the dolphins and whale show and there is even a zoo. Well there is tigers, elefants, giraffes and lions. We stayed until closing and the kids were beat!

Night Clinic

Tara so generously offered to have a bunch of us over for dinner on night clinic night. We met at the park and then to her house for taco salad. The kids had a lot of fun, and it sure was a nice way to pass the time. :0) thanks tara!

"Is it going to be a brother or a sister?"

"Where is the baby going to sleep?"

"We can name the baby Kaden."

"Is your baby getting bigger?"

"Will your baby kick my hand?"

These are all the questions I get asked every day, now that Kinley knows I have a baby in my tummy. Thats right, I am pregnant AGAIN! Word is starting to spread, so I don't want anybody to feel like I am keeping a secret. I am due in April. I haven't seen the doctor yet but I am 6 weeks (according to the baby calculators online). I was feeling really good, until today. I am starting to think I wasn't ready to do this again. We are really excited to add a new baby to our little family. I also found out last night that my sister -in-law is due right when I am. My other sister, Lindsey is about 5 weeks ahead of us. So my mom should be busy next year. :) At least this baby will have lots of cousins his or her age. :)

Sick boy!

This is a little old, but my poor boy was sick with the flu. He looked like he had been hit by a truck. It only lasted 24 hours and he was feeling much better. The part of motherhood I hate the most is sick kids.

Generations

Jordons dad, Gordon (the littlest one)

Jordon

Jordons Grandpa, Max

Kaden

This is four generations, but the cool thing is they are all 25 years apart. Max was 25 when Gordon was born, Gordon was 25 when Jordon was born, and Jordon was 25 when Kaden was born.

We took the kids to the Bay Area Discovery Museum. They really love it. They especially love the painting on the windows. Kaden refuses to wear an apron.

I've been tagged....

7 random things about myself

1. I love, and I mean LOVE dark chocolate.

2. I am actually tone deaf, you know like those horrible singers on American Idol. I think I can hit the right notes, because I know what they are, but then it comes out all wrong.

3. I can't eat spicy stuff, it is pathetic. I can't even eat salsa. I guess I "could" eat it, but I don't like it.

4. When I don't have my kids in the car with me, I love to drive with the music really loud.

5. I HATE scary movies, ever since I had kids I can not watch them. I will spend the whole night getting up to check on my babies.

6. My nickname in elementary school was skinnybones. I hated it!

7. I love the soap opera "All my children" I know I shouldn't watch that crap, but when I moved to SF and it was the only channel we got and the only thing on while Kinley napped. I got addicted. Now I have Tivo and can watch it anytime.

OK... there you go. Now I tag, Andrea Powell, Liz Carpenter, Heidi Rose and Sarah Bradshaw. Have fun girls!

Tennessee Valley Cove

Evan and Kinley on the hike to Tennessee Valley Cove.

Thank you Bethany for letting me use your stroller. I am pretty sure mine would have never made it.
